Easter Bunnay

Sooooooo, Friday Cricket and I caught the Fabulous Entourage, who were indeed fabulous. I heart them.

Saturday was spent doing nothingish until Willio came over and we chatted about the tiny tiny tiny one bedroom and studio apartments that are in our (his) price range. Sad. He may have to move to the UES and I may have to miss him. Then we saw Jumper, which we both thought was going to be the hottest comic-bookiest movie we'd ever seen. It wasn't. It was bad. And Hayden Christiansen wasn't EVER naked. GAWD!

Sunday was brunch with a crew of NYC orphans and then post-brunch drinks/convo about comedy, politics and ______. Then I passed out on my face at 8pm on the couch. When I awoke to get ready for work, my jaw felt like I'd been giving..."speeches" for hours. Luckily today, it is much better and I don't want to die.

TONIGHT IS Idol. Something to live for. w00t.

Last night The Parodivas had done our best. I am hoping the new parodies/jokes hit the audience at On The Rocks a bit better. That's my hope. I'm pretty sure they will.

I just received from Amazon: August Rush (my favorite movie of last year that pretty much EVERYONE hated) and Enchanted. I am excited to watch them this weekend. I ain't got no plans. I guess take it easy, since we will have had two gigs this week.

Several peeps from A Whole New Job attended last night. It was a very nice gesture, but...I don't know what the but is, but there definitely is a butt.

Speaking of butts, are sex jokes REALLY the only things comedy audiences want to hear? Yes.

I think I am seeing the Fabulous Entourage's reunion/maybe last show on Friday. That's plans. That's fun. YAY.

There's a bunch of peeps on the East side of Manhattan not having a happy weekend due to the craxy crane collapse. Whoa. Scary. There is a giant highrise going up next to my apartment (hooray for loud construction) and so this scariness could happen to anyone.

Tonight is hangin' with the Darladiva and Niwa to see The Odd Couple at The Secret Theatre out in Long Island City (tres chic). w00t.

I'm honestly looking forward to a lovely Sunday spent on the couch watching some sorta movie. Yay! Sometimes doing "nothing" is just the best "something," right?

LuPone (gypsy) was pretty darned amazing. YOU GO Grilll.

I REALLY want to see A Catered Affair. I LOVE Bucchino's music and of course worship Harvey Fierstein. I also think that Leslie Kritzer has the potential to follow in Carol Burnett's shoes as a brilliant young actress, adept at comedy. I am excited to see her tackle something not so over the top. And Faith Prince is in it too! Okay. I need to get tickets. Watch out Xanadu!

I am currently reading: The TNT Diet. It's good, but I just don't know if I can commit. I have gotten back on track with my online virtual trainer though. So that is good. Three months til BEACH TIME. As soon as/if I ever finish the diet book, I am going back to reading Dry. It is very good, but honestly, once he got to rehab, I kind of freaked out and put the book down. Ummmmm own demons much? Yeah. But I'll get back to it...sometime. Madame RK recommends it, but also has me nervous about some upcoming scenes. Anyhooooooo. I need to read these books so I can get started on the book I REALLY want to read which is Wicked Gentlemen. w00t? w00t.

My current guilty pleasure which has now been thwarted, is rooting and voting for another Danny. Danny Noriega on American Idol who was sadly booted from the show last night. But, I've decided he will front a glam rock band and I will become his biggest/oldest fan. YOU GO DANNY.

What up last week yo?

Hey doods. Soooooooooo, today was/is a productive! I woke up and made myself breakfast, cleaned the dishes, went to the gym, met with my accountant (thanks darladiva and husband cuz they gonna GET ME SOME CASH), then saw Atonement (it was good but not THE best), am having some salad, and then heading over to see Sunday in the Park with George with Cricket. No, it's not a sequel, I'm seeing it with Cricket. YAY! I am excited. I think it might be my favorite Sondheim.

Last night Cricket and I saw Justin Bond's new cabaret-ish show Lustre at PS122. It was GREAT fun. GO GO GO GO GO GO BOYS. He's amazing. W00t.

Ummmmm, I tried to crash the Lion King audition on Friday (b00t to my agent for not gettin' me an appointment), but IT WAS CANCELED. So meh. NEXT TIME?

I went out for drinks with some peeps from work on Tuesday. It was A LOT of fun, but the day after I was hurtin'. This why I don't go OUT during the week. I gotsta cut myself off early next time. The job is still going well. I've almost been there a month. WOW.

I'm off to google the Oscars so I can formulate some predictions. PERHAPS I'LL POST THEM HERE and we can see how good I AM.

Brunchety goodness, Cute Waiter!, and drunk grocery shopping, oh and animation town

Gwen and I had a GREAT brunch yesterday. We had the most adorable waiter, Patrick O'Freckle. He lives down the street. I actually ran into him on the street today. I think I'll ask him out if I run into him again and then he'll tell me about his gorgeous successful hung boyfriend, but WHATEVER.

After brunch, I drunkenly went to the grocery store. Thanks to Patrick O'F I was DROUNK. I don't remember what I was trying to buy, but I woke up on the couch at 11pm to assorted meats and broccoli rabe on the counter. Silly drunk. I had a glass of wine for dinner and went back to sleep.

Today was the callback for the animated feature The Champion. It turns out they are not working on the casting of The Laughing Cloud, so I may still have a shot at that role. I want to sing bassy bluesy cloud songs, I MEAN REALLY. This time I read Sir Frumious, a sweet innocent crow and a turkey reporter. "You are just so full of surprises." YAY! Hopefully I will be voicing some characters in my first film. w00t.

Going to Marie's tonight since I have tomorrow off. Spendin' the rest of my Sunday watchin' episodes of DEXTER. HOTT.

A week of...doodle

On Tuesday I attended a reading of a new(ish) play on behalf of my boss' production company. They are seeking additional backers aiming toward an Off-Broadway production this Spring. It was very interesting to be on the "other" side. They gave us wine and cheese before and after the reading. And upon exiting, they gave me a producer's kit which has the breakdown of the investments side of the show (i.e. how much to recoup in a 199 seat vs 249 seat), etc. Very interesting indeed. Well, he asked me to write him a review and upon reading it (thanks darladiva for editing/making it better), he "is not jumping at the chance to write a check." YIKES. I have power? Well, anyhoo, I'm not going to name the play here because Shirley, Kenny Melman is involved in SOME WAY and it will get OUT. So doodle's the word on this dish.

No shows this weekend, but I have that voiceover call back. They didn't ask me to prepare the Laughing Cloud again. They want me for Sir Frumious, the villain. w00t. Think good thoughts on Sunday.

Theatre Queen

Last night Gwen and I went to see Spamalot featuring Clay Aiken. Wellllllllllllllllllllllll guess what? He's good. He has the timing down, his accent is close enough and funny, and there is just SOMETHING about him that draws your eye to him on stage. He has a real charisma, real star quality. Bravo Clay. Now marry me. Thanks.

Then there were drinks with Sir Willio. He is in the process of moving. YIKES. Anyone know of an affordable studio or one bedroom in Chelsea, Midtown, North Bergen?

Tonight Darladiva and I are seeing the divine Christine Ebersole in Applause! I love listening to the original cast album and can't wait to hear the songs actually sung (Lauren Bacall starred in the original and while I think she was a fantastic actress, her voice is just not that of a singer). I particularly love the song Think How It's Gonna Be as sung by Len Cariou. YUM-0. Should be a good night.

Off to the gym and then grocery shopping. w00t.

A Whole New Job Week 2

Well, it's still going quite well. I'm settling in and getting the hang of things. Wednesday will be my first day of headin' out to Astoria to attend the Directors Meeting. It's my job to take minutes and then compile and send out on Thursday. EXCITING!
